NATIVE TRANSLATORS
The Native Tongue Principle, also known as the Mother Tongue Principle, states that translators should only ever translate from their second language to their native tongue and never the other way around.
It is a well-respected rule within the translation community, and the consensus among professional translators is that it helps produce higher-quality translations.
