ARE YOUR INTERPRETERS FAMILIAR WITH OUR INDUSTRY?
Yes. When we select an interpreter, we ensure they have the language skills and industry expertise to meet your needs.
However, due to the number of specialised industries that exist today, it is not always possible to work with an interpreter who is an expert in your field or sector.
In such a scenario, we will put forward an interpreter from a closely-related industry. They will do the necessary research and review your PowerPoint slides in advance to familiarise themselves with your talking points.
CONSECUTIVE OR SIMULTANEOUS?
At CTS, we are often asked to help clients decide whether to hire a consecutive or simultaneous interpreter.
During consecutive interpretation, the speaker will pause to give time to the interpreter to deliver the translation. This means that the duration of the meeting or event will be doubled. Due to the lower costs, it is suitable for small-scale meetings, events, exhibitions, and presentations.
Simultaneous interpretation, on the other hand, takes place in real-time. Due to the high costs, it is mainly used in large conferences and high-level meetings. Simultaneous interpreters work in pairs, and specialized equipment such as interpreter booths, headsets, and receivers are required.
